Campomorone is characterized by its secular productive propeller, which has received a further push in the recent postwar period.
However, this feature is unknown to the other neighboring towns.
The consequence is the gradual modification of the landscape, in which the original settlements that have a rural feature live alongside the industrial settlements.
This phenomena was caused by the lack of areas on the maritime Genoese side as well as the possibility to use the water in the various activities that pushed the industrial development towards the Polcevera basin.
However the historical traditions of the rural area remain alive.
These prove that the ancient settlements were made up of small groups of homes that were scattered along the old route that led to the fundamental areas such as Bocchetta and Marcarolo.
The old parish church of St. Stefano of Larvego made up the main religious location of the entire upper Polcevera Valley, because, since 1871 the office of the local government was located in this area.
The various centers of archaic origins cross each other along the crests, where the Rio of St. Martino meets with the Rio of Iso.
These areas conserve the fascination and beauty of rural centers that are perfectly intact in the splendid mountain landscape.
