Logo Mignanego How to get there: Exit at Bolzaneto (Autostrada A7 Genova serravalle) then continue towards Pontedecimo. You can also exit at Busalla (Autostrada A7) and continue towards Mignanego.

It is part of the Ligurian Apennines and the Mignanego territory was included in the parish churches that included the seven “neighborhoods” of the Polcevera Valley. It includes the right side of the valley of the Riccò torrent and it meets with Verde and Pontedecimo and this is where Polcevera originates.

The place-name of Mignanego has ancient origins and you can read it between the lines of the Tavola Bronzea that has been denominated “Mignanico.”

The Tavola Bronzea is an important piece of evidence that dates back to 117 B.C. It was founded in Pedemonte of Serra Riccò in the waters of the Pernecco torrent and it contains the most important history on the Polcevera Valley.

The Sanctuary of N.S. della Vittoria is 600 meters above sea level between Mount Fuea and Mount Maglietta. It is in a splendid position that is dominated by the Valpolcevera near the Pertuso or Malpertuso pass and later it was renamed the Vittoria pass.

It was built in the second half of the 18th century in memory of the victory that occurred in 1625 of the Franco Savoy military led by Carlo Emmanuele I of Savoy, on behalf of the Geovese troops that were helped by the local inhabitants.

The Sanctuary was destroyed in 1747 because it didn’t give refuge to the Austrians that were against the Republic. However, it was rebuilt in 1751.

One of the most ancient things that you can see at Mignanego is mill wheel near the railway tracks.
