How to get there: You will come across San Lorenzo by the Aurelia after exiting at Imperia Ovest (Highway A10).
Laigueglia and Porto Maurizio remained separated for many centuries due to the natural boundary of the San Lorenzo River, later the territory was given to Pietrabruna.
Then the lords of Porto Maurizio decided to build a stronghold near the torrent and they used the money of three pirates that had stolen a large amount of goods from the Saracens.
