How to get there: exit at Deiva Highway A12 then continue for about 12 chilometers towards the sea until you reach Deiva.
The town of Deiva is located along the Deiva Torrent and it has Medieval origins.
The town developed during the 9th century and it controlled the coastal road that led to Moneglia.
Its territory was the feud of the Marquis Da Passano, but it remained under the control of Genoa and it had two defense towers.
The first tower had a cylindrical shape and it was built near the sea in order to protect the town from Saracen raids.
The second one had a square base and it protected the inner part of the town.
In front of the square tower the Parish Church of St. Anthony Abate was built in 1730.
Inside, its visitors can admire Baroque decorations and canvases of the 17th and 19th centuries. Plus you can enjoy the sound of an 1848 Agati mechanical organ.
The chapel of Assunta has a 15th century bas-relief while a perfect churchyard leads to the Parish Church in the community of Piazza.
Among the green, fresh, and relaxing trees a little above the community of Passano you can see the ruins of the Passano family castle that was destroyed by the Genovese in 1180.
It ruins are among a delightful Mediterranean plant life.
It is an attractive sea resort that offers beach equipment as well as comfortable and fun places for everyone.
